Well, we had a great response from our recent office ‘bant’ that we put out on twitter last week. As we’re all involved in Wales’ Alternative Food Festival at the end of the month, the subject of songs with ‘food’ in the title was inevitably raised. Here’s some of the best, serious, bizarre and downright ridiculous from the twittersphere……
.Strawberry Fields forever
.Monster Munch
.Toast (by Paul Young)
.Food Glorious Food
.Fish Heads (by Barnes and Barnes)
.Chocolate by Snow Patrol
.Chocolate Cake by Crowded House
.Orange Crush by REM
.Sandwiches by the Detroit Grand Pubahs
.Pulling Mussels from a Shell by Squeeze
.Breakfast in America (Supertramp)
.Another one bites the crust
.Smells Like POUTINE spirit
.Goujon I’m only dancing
.The Night Has a Thousand PIES
.Tie a yellow ribbon round the old smoked ham (hmm!)
.A Mars a Day Helps you work rest and play (they were really struggling at this point!)
The last time we’ll be doing that one I think! Thanks to some who participated

Things hotting up in the Feastival office this morning, big debate about food related songs. Some great suggestions from the traditional “Food Glorious Food” and “Bread of Heaven” to REMs “Orange Crush” and the Beetles “Strawberry Fields”. If you know any please add below or on twitter #foodsongs
